Why I chose to Read Suddenly?
As much as Namsa and Kinga one would enjoy if you read it. |
It is not that I have never read or I don't love reading. After the repeated advice of my English teachers and seniors, I started picking up libraries randomly and read it voraciously. I din't care if i understood half the contents or fully or sometimes not a dint of its essence. That's the reading summary of my life in lower school.
As I grew up I had slowly shifted the subject of my reading from fairy tales of Cinderella and Snow White to Contemporary Love Stories that would take me to Love Land most of the times. Towards the middle and high schools, I started discovering the story writing talents of Bhutanese and that is how I understood the paradigm shift in the consciousness of my mind in literary works with age and time.
When I am in college, I lost hold of all those reading habits-I mean the Novels and Story Books. But more than ever, I pinned my focus on reading online that would include National and International news, Blogs, Publications, Journals and Reports. This are called Adult Reading, I am already into the age of Adult. The Subjects would vary from politics to scientific, climate change to poverty alleviation, project stories to environmental concerns and goes so forth that comes before my eyes on internet.
In recent times I have devoted much of my times in reading the political issues and the critics given by various bloggers and other writers. This has so much effect on my inclination towards the political interest. Not necessarily my future into politics, but as a political analyst or political critics. Through this subjects, I knew that to be a political analyst need not necessarily condemn the plans and works of politician, it also has to appreciate the brighter face of his/her works.
Reading Chronicles of Love Foretold |
To my excitement, I had heard and seen on Facebook about Chronicles of Love Foretold by Monu Tamang, the salient feature being in his publication of Crowd Funding. Every reader suggests to grab a copy of it. Fastest sold book in Bhutan, it got it's place in shelves of every book stores in Bhutan. That fascinated me so much and urge grew in me to do my part in it too. Recently I borrowed it from one of my friends and read it, though it took me almost three weeks to complete-that is where i found my laziness and lost in track in reading habits of books. I remember how I would complete thick and large books in a stretch of few readings in my high school days. I knew I have lost momentum in reading books.
But never to my dismay I am into adult reading, I read so much online. The recent happenings, findings, discovery and the political atmosphere are before my sense. Those subjects teaches me so much and I have so much to learn from those subjects. Dreaming to write few in near future, I would keep reading and writing a habit alive even if can not become a published writer. In the hope that I become actors in their stories, in the urge that I make them actors in my stories, I shall be curious ever to learn new and reflect old stories. If "curiosity is the mother of learning" I will have learnt many things in my coming days provided I read as much as I dream.
