The next on throne of Yonphu Chhoeje Dhungjue

H.E. Lama Kuenzang Dorji

Yonphu Chhoeje Dhungjue is the spiritual lineage holder and significant practitioner of Duenjom tersar. Phagchok Rinpoche, one of the heir sons to His Eminence late Meymey Lama Rinpoche Sangye Wangdue is the present patron on throne of the lineage residing at Phagchok samdrup Choeling Gonpa. Born on 9^th November 1990 at Phagchok to His Eminence Phagchok Rinpoche Kuenzang Dorji and consort Sherub Dema, Phuntshog Tashi is a spiritual born and bred.
Like many spiritual figures as a toddler he is found to have great keen in religious task and arts. Under the strict guidance of H.E late Meymey Lama Rinpoche (Grandfather) and Phagchok Rinpoche he is trained in the basics of spiritual arts. It is observed that with much enthusiasm he has a unique vigor in studying the religious texts and the arts. Even as a child he would be serious in learning the religious texts and practicing some of the spiritual arts. By the time he is 6 years old he got familiarized with some of the basics of religion.

Dungsey Phuntshog Tashi

In 1997 at the age of 7 he got enrolled at Daifam Primary school for modern education.   He was competent in dzongkha both in written and reading as he was already well versed with dzongkha alphabets and words. Besides his excellence in Dzongkha his overall performance in the class always resulted extraordinarily. The teachers would always appreciate his attitude and character making him the role model of his fellow mates. 
Even at his early age he had the qualities of great being. He would portray his humanity and selfless conducts with everyone. Humble and sincere in his conducts, he has no record of failure in academics and misconducts in disciplinary ground throughout his entire school days. Studied in various schools, viz. Diafam Primary School, Minjiwoong Lower secondary school, Nganglam Middle school and Nangkhor Higher secondary school from 1997 to 2009.  Most of all academic excellences he topped whole Bhutan BHSEC 2009 which is one of the prestigious examination in the country.

With such excellent performance in esteemed examination for all ordinary people would prefer to pursue further studies in various prestigious courses. But for him the story is just the opposite to our surprises. He decided to change his course of life into spiritual domain. Even at this early age he had attended many religious discourses, received important Wang Lung Thrue Sum from many worldly religious figures and studied the cores of Buddhism.

He has attained 16 months of retreat with Khenpo Namdag Phuntshog at Pepung Lhuendrup Tse (Tsephu).  Right after the retreat he joined Ngagyur Nyingma College in 2011. Some of the blessings and important teachings he received from Rinpoches are Dudjom Sungbum Wang from HH Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche at Siliguri in 2006, Tersar Tsasum Wang, Throema and Sampa Lhuendrup mai Wang from HH Garab Rinpoche, Gyalsey Laklen teaching and Lojong, Kala  Chakra from HH Dalai Lama ,Jangter Gongpa zangthel from HH Tsetruel Rinpoche, Nyingthik Yazhi from HH Dodrupchen Rinpoche.
